Product Information: AK Jr

Interested in hi-res audio? This is a great place to start! The AK Jr is packed full of features and is our entry-level model that will open the door for you to explore what hi-res audio is all about.

The Starting Point of Music, AK Jr

Thin and Light

The AK Jr gives everyone the opportunity to comfortably listen to high resolution audio, anytime and anywhere. The AK Jr’s compact design delivers the highest sound quality while fitting comfortably in your pocket. It's like carrying a small concert in your pocket.

Design Story

The AK Jr simplifies complex features of Hi-Fi audio to a smartphone-like experience. The simplified design exemplifies the original concept of the AK Jr. The raised screen provides secure grip and slims down the profile. The full aluminum body and textured aluminum volume wheel allows smooth one-handed operation.

Increased output and lowered impedance

What are we talking about here? Simply put, the AK Jr supports many various types of earphones and headphones, a separate amplifier is unnecessary.

The AK Jr supports DSD, the digital audio format widely considered to be the next-generation in high resolution audio. DSD is converted to PCM allowing you to listen to a greater range of audio.

The AK Jr can also function as an external DAC (sound card) when connected to a PC or Mac via USB. When playing music stored on a computer, the AK Jr delivers the same high level of audio quality while eliminating the need for a built-in sound card.

Note: The AK Jr's EQ settings are disabled when used as a USB DAC. The USB DAC feature also supports UAC 1.0 (USB Audio Class 1.0 / 24-bit, 96 kHz) audio output.

Full Touch Screen

The AK Jr features a 3.1" LCD touchscreen. The smartphone-like screen has full touch capabilities, offers a responsive interface and the large screen displays more information than previous models of our players.

64GB + 256GB* microSD (*largest card size available)

The AK Jr features 64GB of internal memory and supports microSD cards up to 256GB, to store more music than ever before. The AK Jr is capable of offering a whopping total storage capacity of 320GB! The combined 320GB of internal memory and external microSD card capacity is capable of holding more than 3,000 high resolution audio files. (Based on one, 4-minute song @ 24 bit/96 kHz, taking up 90MB)

A great addition for the AK Jr is a AK Jr case! Made from LASKINA® polyurethane fabric by Synt3, a world-class manufacturer of polyurethane located in Milan, Italy. Available in 6 different colors and 2 types of materials. Check them out here!

pratik r chavan: The CPU in the AK Jr is not as advanced as some of our other portable products, as it is only a single-core CPU. Slight delay in UI is quite normal. The battery life is 6 to 8 hours on a full charge. Any headphone with high impedance values will require more power and using a headphone amp is recommended if more volume is wanted.

Garen: The USB DAC feature currently does not support Windows 10 64-bit machines. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Gregory Braun: Yes, WMA format is supported.

Lanxe: Please check with your car stereo’s Bluetooth specifications and see if they are compatible with the AK Jr’s.

So i’ve tried this DAT for few days.

    Have good and bad.

    Good 1st :

Don’t look for download the manual ! They are all inside the DAT just copy/past to your computer ! Done

my product is already V 1.03

B eautiful product, feel strong !

The sound of course !!! The sound !!! Just to bad to start around 40 to have some noise on headphone

    Bad news :

THE BATTERY : 3 hours for full charge, but only 5h30 mn of music on DSD at 55 !!! Short for travel

Bluthooth not woek with my soundbar !!! Bye bye my music on my TV room, or with my iphone 6S on… MP3… Thank you AKjr for this !

Transfert music from W10 to AK Jr on USB 3 = about 5 M/s… Very slow !!!

So, like i said, it’s my 1st DAT, but i think not for long time… For the price it’s just OK for me…

But, one thing i like : screen old fashion, simple, not android shit ! Very good point AK for this. And i know, many people angry you, because to simple and not quick answer on screen.

But, my guess, you looking for the best sound !!! DEALS ON !

So, my 2nd DAT ? AK i think in few weeks : but witch one ? Don"t know yet. I don’t want make same mistake than this one.

I don’t mean it’s bad… If it was a DAC, i’m OK, but for a DAT it’s little bit short on batterie, BT not work with all new products, 300 Gb it’s small for DSD collection !

Conclusion : Beautiful sound (headphone Master & Dynamic MH40), but for the rest it’s too short

PS : impossible to find how to register my products and see if it’s a original or copy !!! After all, many good brand are copying, and i buy from Internet so i want to be sure it’s an original products !

    Thanks guys

    Tex… Still french guy lol
